We call for new documentary
film projects from Ukraine.
It is here, in Ukraine,
the great Vertov shot his genius films ”The man with the camera”,
“Donbass symphony (Enthusiasm)” and “The Eleventh”.
Authors, directors and
producers!
Everybody, who has projects
of documentary films about our today’s life!
We invite you to the
first Ukrainian open-air workshop “Country Doc”. “Country Doc” is
a gulp of fresh air. Get out of stuffy and smoked rooms!
“Country Doc” will involve
5 best projects, selected at the Third Ukrainian workshop on international
co-production of documentary.
Five experienced foreign
tutors will hold a master-class.
“ Country Doc” are four days spent together in two country houses.
Small private hotels and small mountain river with the ice-cold
swimming bath , early mountain autumn and mushrooms in the West
Ukrainian Carpathians just cannot help assisting the birth of masterpieces.

The first Ukrainian open-air workshop “Country Doc”: 20-24 September,
2006
The Third Ukrainian workshop
on international co-production of documentary for filmmakers and
producers from Ukraine, Byelorussia, Russia is dedicated to script
development, production and marketing.
The workshop aims are: creating adequate conditions for production
and release of interesting and professionally done Ukrainian art-documentary
films.
The workshop will involve
15 projects represented by two persons per project. Under guidance
of experienced tutors the workshop participants will receive proper
assistance in order to prepare their film projects and get them
on the way, to identify prospective sources of financing and, finally,
to create quality documentaries that would be subsequently released
for theatre screening or television broadcasting. The best projects
will obtain assistance and support for their subsequent implementation
and distribution.
5 best projects will
be selected for future work.
The authors of the selected projects and tutors will meet in September
in the picturesque region of Carpathian Mountains, where for 4 days
they will be able to work on the further development of their projects
and will undergo trainings.
We want a documentary filmmaker to be free of political control
and financial dictate of mass-media proprietors as well as films
to be devoted to the modern life and to be based on fundamental
values of democracy, such as the right for freedom and human dignity.
