Reaction W?adimir Gierczikow / Russia 2005 / 42 min
Being one of the most notorious cases in recent years, Mikhail
Chodorkovski's Moscow trial has been frequently analyzed by
world media. Not many people, however, are familiar with Russian
society's point of view - "Reaction" tries to elucidate
this view. The documentary, filmed in several cities and in
the village of Pushkino, depicts people of all ages and social
backgrounds, in the streets, at school, on trains, sharing
their views on the issue. It also shows the viewer events
taking place in front of the courthouse - quarrels between
Chodorkovski's supporters and pedestrians as well as fragments
of foreign TV commentary. The film presents a broad spectrum
of opinions, and, in a more general sense, is a survey of
the feelings and attitudes pervading Russian society.
