Victor Fanaylov's
documentary on freedom of speech violations is constructed
around rich archive footage from NTV television's Minsk correspondents.
This is juxtaposed with stories and opinions of independent
Byelorussian journalists - Nikolai Markyevich, Pavel Mazheyka,
Viktor Ivashkyevich and Pavel Selin - as well as that of eminent
documentary filmmaker Yuri Chashchevadzki (whose film "Hostages
of the Caucasus" was shown during the 2003 festival)
and the pastor Ernest Sabilla. Freedom of speech violations
are presented here in the wider context of Byelorussian human
rights violations and president Lukashenka's dictatorial rule.
