The rights of mothers and fathers in maternity hospitals: Expectations and reality

Duration
60’
Between pregnancy and childbirth, childbirth is often the most traumatic experience for future fathers and mothers. The importance of labor is impossible to overestimate. Giving birth deeply affects both a woman’s physical health and the mental health of the woman and her partner.  However, the expectation of safe and comfortable labor often faces the harsh reality.

Although women’s rights during labor are protected by medical protocols, Ukrainians continue to have traumatic experiences during childbirth. How do you defend your right to safe and minimally traumatic labor? How knowledge of their rights can be a tool against violence at health care facilities for future mothers and fathers?

How can the new Campaign for the Rights of Future Mothers and Fathers at Maternity Hospitals help improve our quality of life?
