Sergey Bukovsky was born in 1960 in Bashkiria, USSR. That same year, his father, film director Anatoly Bukovsky, and mother, actress Nina Antonova, brought him to Kiev. Sergey Bukovsky studied film directing in the Film Department at the Karpenko-Karyi Kiev State Institute of Theatrical Arts. He worked at the Ukrainian documentary film studio for more than a decade. During his 25-year film career, Bukovsky has made approximately 50 documentary and TV films.  Some of them received awards at prestigious international film festivals. They include: “Tomorrow is a Holiday” (1987), “Roof” (1990), “Dislocation” (1992), “The Hyphen” (1992), “To Berlin!” (1995), “Vilen Kalyuta. Real Light” (2000), “Terra Vermelha. Red Land” (2001), and the 9-part documentary series for television “War. The Ukrainian Account” that was awarded the National Taras Shevchenko Prize in 2004. From 1998 to 2003, Bukovsky taught courses in documentary directing at the Karpenko-Karyi Kiev State Institute of Theatrical Arts.

Director, cameraman, scriptwriter, producer, Graduated from the Leningrad Technical University (1968) and the Moscow Institute of Cinematography (1978). Worked at the Finish television, at the “Atelier – Film – Alexander” (AFA) in St.Petersburg, Studio “Nerve”, Studio “Camera” in Moscow, Studio of Documentaries in ST. Petersburg. Member of the Russian National Film Academy «NIKA». Was member of Jury at the 39 International Film Festival Karlovy Vary, member of Jury at the 3 International Film Festival “PLANETE DOC REVIEW” Warsaw ,Poland, Head of the Jury at the Film Festival “Window to Europe”, 2007, Russia. Has numerous prizes and film festival awards.

Since 2003 he is Director of the WATCH DOCS Human Rights in Film International Film Festival, employed by the Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Warsaw, Poland. Co-founder and the Vice-President of the Board of the foundation Social Institute of Film, promoting engaged documentary social films in Central and Eastern Europe. Conducting lectures and workshops on strategic litigation, European system of human rights protection and on history and philosophy of human rights for students of Warsaw University, Collegium Civitas and members of various NGOs from Poland and CIS.Mmember of the human rights jury at the Venice International Film Festival (2007) and member of the Amnesty International-DOEN Award jury at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (2006) etc.

Marek Vozka is since the end of 2006 Head of Production of the International human rights documentary film festival One World in Prague. During his studies he had started to work for the non-profit, non-governmental organization People in Need as a coordinator of foreign missions in Relief and Development department. In 2004-2005 he was the Head of mission in North Caucasus. After the mission was closed under the pressure from the Russian authorities he started to work on development operations in Georgia and Armenia.

Writer, script writer, translator, linguist. Graduated from the Faculty of Oriental languages at the Leningrad state university (1965), PhD in Philology. Former President of the Association of Ukrainian writers (1997-2000). Author of numerous stories, novels, scientific articles etc. He lectured in universities in USA, Canada, Argentina, Brazil and other countries. Almost 20 years he is dealing with problems of juvenile delinquents and is a member of the Trustee Council at the Educative Colony in the town Pryluzk and a member of Civil Council of the State Department On Fulfillment of Penalty. In the colony in Pryluzk he is editor-in-chief of the quarterly magazine “Horizon” that includes poetry, poems and drawings of the inhabitants of the colony.
